Description

This position is responsible for direct supervision of hourly operators and leading the assigned operations team to achieve business results.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Communication

1. Manage team members in the Production Operation, establishing strong lines of communication and disseminating information to the team, and championing change within the business;
2.Be tactful, direct, and consistent in the handling of performance and labor issues;
3.Serve as a communication link between the Value Stream Leader, UAW Leadership, other team leaders, leadership team members and other support functions;
4.Devise and implement training processes for both new and experienced employees;
5.Manage multiple projects to drive results, remove barriers, and maintain a bias for action;
6.Promote positive employee relations;
7.Demonstrate commitment and involvement in promoting employee safety;
8.Ensure a safe work environment by continuously and consistently applying safe work practices.

Operational Metrics & Performance Goals

1.Establish key internal business metrics (Safety, Quality, Costs, Delivery, and Inventory) and ensure the performance of the team meets or exceeds customer expectations and business objectives.
2.Implementation of systems and procedures to meet ISC safety, productivity and on-time delivery goals.
3.Guide teams to meet production goals for all processes relating to manufacturing
4.Strategic planning and logistics of resource allocation.

Process Improvement

1.Drive Productivity Improvements, leading assigned CRUs in product and process improvements;
2.Improve the Quality of Products and Processes through the use of Six Sigma and LEAN concepts;
3.Drive HOS implementation projects across the departments that improve operations and business processes.
4.Lead continuous improvement projects with specific focus on major performance areas of throughput, cycle time reduction, quality, safety and cost.
5.Actively participate in the specification of requirements for equipment and resources for new technology development.
6.Monitor the performance of the team, celebrating achievements and providing corrective actions on audit findings, and assuring that accountability for quality workmanship is driven throughout the entire team to the individual level

Other Responsibilities

Administrative responsibilities associated with day to day supervision such as managing labor reporting, Time/Attendance, product movement within operations pipeline.
Develop and participate in proposing department budgets for expense and capital.
